Being able to push yourself mentally and physically and having these world class guides to lean on is great. It was so cool to learn from guides who were so experienced. Although we did not summit due to conditions beyond our control, I appreciated and respected the guides decision to not take risks. Climbing Mount Rainier - U.S. National Park Service I felt like I was on a different planet. I was grateful I was finally able to get to the top. Overall all three guides were exceptional. I enjoyed getting the chance to go beyond Camp Muir and do some real mountaineering in a structured professional program. All the RMI guides I encountered were incredible people, everything felt well organized. The team approach to climbing under the leadership of the guides. now I have a better understanding of what and how to train- perspective. Ifyou have experience and are looking for something physically challenging, a chance to improve your technical skills and a smaller group climb, then the Fuhrer Finger route is an excellentprogram. I think the guides make all the difference in the world, if all 3 weren't so awesome to be around, I'm not sure I would want to try again. Unfortunately, my overall experience wasn't good. My brother and I are hoping to come back next year and try again! I felt like they really knew what they were doing, and I felt safe with them. I enjoyed everything. The climb was tough but I really enjoyed the sunrise between Disappointment Cleaver and High Break. Reaching the top! You can tell they love what they do. Rigor. I loved learning proper technique and the light hike we did to get to the training field. I really enjoyed getting a lead guide, Tyler, who made us feel like we were "part of the club" . Baker offers the perfect introduction to mountaineering, and is often considered the best glacier training venue in the US. Otherwise, Mike and his team's true love of the mountains really shone through, which was inspiring to me. Overcoming the challenge was probably the most enjoyable part, but a close second was getting to observe the technical expertise of the guides and to learn about mountaineering (knots, gear, layering systems, travel techniques, hazards, etc).
